Upcomming in 2024
About a year now we have nurtured thoughts and formed opinions about some 170 or so bone, antler and ivory items in the collection of the Museum of Valmiera (Valmiera, Latvia). It is a small, but nevertheless interesting and sometimes even challenging collection that give insight in the lives of citizens of Valmiera from about 12th to 19th centuries.
So, on the 6th of December in the Museum of Valmiera we will share all we have found out thus far. This will include also a guided excursion in exposition with longer or shorter stops at each and every of ''bones'' there.
In this regard - if you, wherever you are - have a knowledge of 17th/ 18th c. knives with decorative star - shaped brass rivets in bone handles, Contact us to let us know. Thanks in advance!
...And then a gap is missing here...
The events of 2024 unfolded with such a zest that we obviously could not keep track of it all here. Therefore the gap. A gap missing here.
There were some of events quite recently, thus live in our memories:
On 14th of November we spoke in a conference in Turaida Museum Reserve
Then there is a sound clip from Lāčplēša diena concert on the 11th of November in Mālpils (Latvia), indicating that some of us were there to commemorate soldiers who fought in Latvian war of independence with song:

On the 5th of August at an event in Limbaži (Latvia) medieval castle You cold have met us making some rosary beads.
